With an industry experience of more than 6 years with leading law firms, Ms Sutapa Jana has successfully represented a wide array of clients including fortune 500 companies in the Supreme Court, various High Courts, erstwhile Intellectual Property Appellate Board (IPAB), Patent & Trademark Offices and National Biodiversity Authority. She has been primarily involved in contentious IP matters involving patents, trademarks, designs, copyrights etc. She has been the part of some of the major Standard Essential Patents and pharmaceutical litigation in India. She has also been actively involved in matters concerning Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers' Rights Act, 2000 and regularly appears before the Protection of Plant Variety and Farmers' Rights Authority. She also advises clients on various aspect of licensing and transfer of IP rights.
